In May, the CAIU joins the national movement to Take a Moment and increase awareness about mental health. We hope to help fight stigma, educate our schools, families and students and others while advocating for policies to be improved surrounding those with mental illness and their families. This month provides our Intermediate Unit the opportunity to spotlight various resources and information on mental health while sharing those across our area and state. Join us and NAMI this month in normalizing the practice of taking moments to prioritize mental health care without guilt or shame. Learn More Champions for Children Annual Golf Outing Mark your calendars and plan to attend the 28th Annual Champions for Children Golf Tournament fundraiser! This event is the largest fundraiser for C4C, the CAIU’s 501(c)(3). C4C helps children and families in the IU’s footprint with life-changing opportunities. Sponsorships are still available. Current Vacancies Capital Area Pathways to Teaching (CAPT) The CAIU is leading the way on a ground-breaking, innovative new program that aims to raise up the next generation of educational leaders. In partnership with BloomBoard, a talent development provider that helps school districts with educator pipeline, advancement, and retention solutions, CAIU has created the Capital Area Pathways to Teaching (CAPT) program. Think BIG! Partnership In Fall 2023, the CAIU partnered with Phoenix Contact to expand the Think BIG! program in the Harrisburg area. In partnership with Phoenix Contact, the CAIU is embarking on a year-long collaboration to formalize and expand the curriculum for schools within the IU footprint. Think BIG! All-In Newsletter and Executive Director’s Report All-In is Executive Director Dr. Andria Saia’s monthly report to the Board of Directors, and includes articles written by Cabinet members on programs and initiatives in their departments, note-worthy events and happenings from our staff, information on new hires and retirees, compliments to CAIU staff on jobs well-done, and so much more!
